Here we go, Vacay Recap

I know I said I would start this last Monday but...I didn't. Here it is now instead. I will tell you all about my Disney vacation and let you know a few pointers.

I will be recapping the trip one day at a time so stay tuned all week!

Wednesday, June 10th
To Orlando and Beyond!

We flew out of Bush Intercontinental around 10 am. We were suppose to be in Orlando around 2 ish. Unfortunately, there was a huge storm and we were redirected to Jacksonville. We did not get into Orlando until 4pm. We were not going to let this rain on our parade though!

When we got to the airport, we had to wait a hour in line for the Magical Express to take us to our Disney Resort. This wasn't favorable but they said that it is usually not like that. The traffic was backed up all over Orlando due to the storm so it was causing delays.

*I highly recommend using this complimentary shuttle service if staying at a Disney resort. They take your luggage right from the plane to your hotel room. They send you these bright yellow luggage tags that you put on your bags so they know which ones to grab. They only send you one for each person. If you have more than one bag, you can either take it unmarked and pick it up at the baggage claim and wheel it with you onto the Magical Express or, you can cut the tag in half. My grandma did this and both of her luggage made it safely to the room.

We stayed at the Art of Animation. It is the newest resort and it was really amazing. It definitely gives you the feeling of Disney from the moment you arrive.
There are four different buildings. Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.
They all have their perks. The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Finding Nemo buildings all have their own pool. The Lion King has a small playground and Little Mermaid is the furthest from the cafe, front desk, and shop.
We stayed in the Lion King building in a family suite. It was really nice and the fact that we had two bathrooms for five people was super great.

*Use the extra Magic Hours.
When we finally made it to the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday, it was around 9 pm. We had three fast passes already set up. The Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and It's a Small World.
*Do not ride The Jungle Cruise at night if it is your first time, there are a lot of things you miss.
After our three fast passes were used, we were able to ride 3 or for 4 more rides thanks to the Magic Hours. The park did not close until 2 am and we used every minute of it.
*This is a big one. I might as well get it out of the way now because it affects everyday. BUY THE MEMORY MAKER! It may seem like a lot of money to spend on pictures but I can guarantee you it is worth every penny. There are photographers at every park that will take your picture. They then simply scan your magic band and they magically show up on your account. This also makes it super easy to get your ride pictures. When you get off, you find your picture, touch your magic band, and boom, you're done. After your trip, you can order prints through them, download them all to your computer, and they give you a limited license to print them out yourself. So worth it.

Well, there is our first day at Disney. I can't wait to share the rest of the trip with you! It was truly Magical!

Make sure to check out the videos on each post this week!
